I finished the final day of the 3-day Suja Juice cleanse yesterday, and I’m really glad I did it. In fact, it worked so well that I baked a cake, two dozen sugar cookies, two dozen Ad Hoc chocolate chip cookies, and creme brulee without sampling any of it! I just made sure I had the appropriate bottle of juice within arm’s reach to avoid any temptation.
My overall thoughts and suggestions (in case anyone tries this cleanse themselves):
-A glass of water in between juices helps curb any cravings or temptations to cheat.
-The 16-ounce juice bottles made me feel better about the cleanse. The bottles appeared substantial enough that I didn’t think I would feel deprived after drinking them. Plus, the different flavor combinations of each of the juices prevented “chugging” or “gulping”.
-I read another blogger’s comment that some headaches may occur on the second day because of the lack of caffeine. Seeing as I kicked my caffeine habit months ago, this wasn’t a problem for me. But, definitely start reducing the amount of caffeine you intake for a couple of days beforehand in case you do this cleanse.
-Admittedly, there were times on Day 2 when I wanted to stop and just save the Day 3 bottles for a 1-Day cleanse. I was so hungry! But, I kept reminding myself that I was halfway finished, and it was worth it to finish it out right. Day 3 was a breeze to complete!
I’d definitely do this cleanse again. I feel better and more alert. Plus, my snacking cravings have been curbed just in time for Thanksgiving. Three days of just juice isn’t as bad as you’d think. I think it helped that I did the cleanse right before Thanksgiving because it made me just a bit more conscious of what I’m going to eat during this food-driven holiday. Thanks to Suja Juice for this great cleanse and to Cher from The Not So Exciting Adventures of a Dabbler… for sponsoring the giveaway!
