In honor of International Picnic Day, Louise at Months of Edible Celebrations is hosting a Muppets-themed “virtual” picnic. This means participating bloggers choose a letter of the alphabet, make something to bring to a picnic starting with that letter, and list all the letters/foods that come before. My letter is R, and I say,
“I’m going on a picnic, and I’m bringing:
Aloo Gobi; Blueberry Cucumber Salsa; Crispy Curry Fried Chicken; Dying for Chocolate Chocolate Cake; Eton Mess; Fish in a Jar; Golden Pillow Hee Ban; Hummingbird Cake; Ice Cream Sandwiches; Jersey Hot Dogs; Kahlua Mocha Ice Cream; Light and Soft Japanese Cheesecake; Ma’moul; Nettle Quinoa Tart; Oriental Pasta Salad; Pan de Mango; Quinoa Pizza Balls; and
Rainbow Connection Cupcakes in honor of Kermit the Frog’s “Rainbow Connection”.
Well, sort of. In my haste, I didn’t realize that my standard 4-color box of food coloring was out of red! Boo! I also realized I was out of cupcake papers. Jebus. Quick thinking resulted in making cupcakes (with extra sprays of Pam with flour) in the three other colors, frosting them with white buttercream, and then topping with red sprinkles. That works, right? Close enough!
