There’s Sweet Baked Love in Ina’s Garden!

Mia at Bright Morning Star is hosting this week’s Ina’s Garden theme, Sweet Baked Love, which can be interpreted many different ways so long as the recipe chosen is baked! For my submission, I chose Ina’s peach and raspberry crisp to represent my love for locally grown summer fruits.

This is my first year where I’m actively buying locally grown seasonal fruits and vegetables. In the past, I’d just walk aimlessly through the farmers market looking for strawberries regardless of whether they were in season and leave it at that. Now I know better! Plus, I love that this crisp is so “signature Ina” that even her Hamptons friends are shown making this dish on Ina’s show!

This recipe couldn’t be any easier or simpler. I even got the ingredients this morning, made the dish, and photographed it with time to write this post before work! For my version, I halved the recipe and was able to fit the entire mix in an 8×8 glass dish.

The result was so tasty! The delicious flavors of the soft baked fruit came bursting through while the topping provided a nice contrast texture-wise. It was so good that I ate it for breakfast!

I hope you can join us in Ina’s Garden this week and link up some Sweet Baked Love! If not, feel free to join us on August 4th when the theme will be Appetizing Appetizers and Snacks featuring Rosemary Roasted Cashews. If you need a reminder, you can always check the Ina’s Garden cooking group blog for the schedule!

Oh my, I’m so impressed for two reasons, first that you baked, photographed and posted all before work! and second, that this looks amazingly yummy! The color is beautiful, from peaches that look perfectly ripe! I agree with you on the “locally grown seasonal fruit” ! I may still have strawberries but they are in my freezer from month’s ago!!

Looks beautiful! Local produce just tastes better. I hated going to the farmers market and seeing vendors selling things from California. I can buy that cheaper at the store. We now have two that are just local.

That is making me sooooo hungry for a crisp. I have trouble with those however because I am allergic to oatmeal. Always have to substitute cookies or such and they never taste as good as the real thing. This looks delicious.
