Mother’s Day Brunch Tag!

I’ve been tagged by Chaya at Comfy Cook’s Kosher Kitchen and Bizzy B. Bakes to create a post of dishes that my mother would enjoy for a Mother’s Day brunch! The choices were easy because these dishes have already been taste-tested and approved by my mother. Oh, I’ll warn you right now that this “menu” might not be the most well-rounded type meal.

Garlic Cheddar Biscuits.

Julia Child’s Chicken Breasts with Mushroom Cream Sauce.

Dorie Greenspan’s My Go-To Beef Daube.

Bear Claw Bundt Cake.

Mandarin Orange Almond Tartlets.

But what my mother really loves are flowers, and she always comments how well Chicago does at landscaping the city, even indoors. So, I took some photos inside Macy’s on State Street for her! HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!

My mother always told me that a healthy plate is a colorful plate, but I just cannot stay away from the white and neutral colored carbs, cheeses, and meats with creamy sauces. If that is wrong I don’t want to be right, looks like a great meal to me!

Those mandarin orange almond tartlets are adorable! I want to eat one. I love all the flowers, too. It makes me miss the flowers in my mom’s yard in NY. I hadn’t even realized that there were no tulips or daffodils growing here in Texas. Boooo! Thanks for bringing me some Spring!

I think the flowers just make Mothers’ Day and your photos are lovely. Hubby filled our house with flowers…in the bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, family room, the entry…everywhere I went he had flowers. It was extra special and very sweet of him to be so thoughtful. I think your mom would like them.
