Yes, I know. I skipped a few of the ingredients Dorie listed in this week’s ffwD recipe. Like the sauteed green onions as the “base sauce” for these puff pastry “pizzas”. And the black olive and radish “toppings”. But, I just didn’t have it in me to mess with those ingredients. Not today anyway. I stuck with the simple basil, mozzerella, and tomato combo on top of the puff pastry rounds. And, I’m surprised I actually purchased the sushi-grade tuna. Mind you, I didn’t get the tuna from the fish counter; I bought three pieces of tuna sashimi from my favorite sushi restaurant and sliced those up instead.
No joke: these pizzas were delicious! But, I would only recommend them if you’re a fan of raw fish (which I am)! These fresh tuna, mozzerella & basil pizzas were made for French Fridays with Dorie, a group of bloggers who are cooking their way through Dorie Greenspan’s Around My French Table: More Than 300 Recipes from My Home to Yours.

I like the cute rumpled edges on your crust. I used the olives and radish, but they didn’t do much for me. Especially the radish. It was non-noticeable. Yours looks veeery tasty!

You used the best of the ingredients in the recipe…and your crusts are so cute! I love raw tuna, so this was a major hit!

I concur with Ei and Liz: the crust on the puff pastry looks so cute!! But I love idea of tuna for this dish. You should recommend this to our sushi restaurant: using perhaps salmon too! Deeee-Lish!!!

Great job. I am not a fan of raw tuna or any raw fish. Maybe I will make the recipe sans the fish.

You can never go wrong with the combo of toppings you used! Delicious. Never would have thought of a sushi restaurant for the tuna.

I like your simplified version, but I was really impressed at the how the radish and the ginger played off of the tomato and basil etc.. I hope you get to try it with all of the ingredients.

That was the smartest way to go about the sushi grade tuna purchase! I have most of the ingredients in the house to make the pizza, but somehow tuna and mozzarella don’t go together in my head. The mixed opinions this week are not helping either. 🙂
